MIAMI: Alessandro Stroscio has been appointed as BBC Worldwide’s VP of consumer products for the Latin American region.

In his new position, Stroscio will be in charge of analyzing new market trends, overseeing licenses for the company’s vast catalogue of titles and brands, and developing and commercializing books, DVDs and toys, among other consumer products. He will work out of Miami under Fred Medina, BBC Worldwide’s executive VP in the region.

Stroscio has spent nearly two decades working in finance, strategic marketing and the development and supervision of final consumer points of sale. "BBC Worldwide Consumer Products boasts an extensive portfolio of TV entertainment packaged media that extend fans’ enjoyment of their favorite shows with some of the most acclaimed TV entertainment properties, such as Top Gear, Lonely Planet, Frozen Planet and Doctor Who, offered in different formats and playing in a variety of platforms," said Medina. "We are confident that Alessandro’s experience and knowledge will enable us to expand retail deployment. Most importantly, in this expanded role we are able to leverage the versatility of our world class brands and product lines to deliver dynamic commercial solutions to our retail partners."
