Luis Silberwasser Named President of Telemundo Network

NEW YORK: Luis Silberwasser, who most recently served as executive VP and chief content officer for Discovery Networks International, has been named president of Telemundo Network, starting in August.

He will report to Joe Uva, the chairman of Hispanic enterprises and content at NBCUniversal, and will be based in Miami. Silberwasser will have overall responsibility for the Telemundo broadcast network, including Telemundo Studios. Working closely with the Hispanic enterprises and content senior team and Telemundo’s leadership, Silberwasser will be responsible for developing and executing the Spanish-language network’s entertainment, sports and news growth strategy with a focus on increased market share and profitability.
