L.A. Screenings Spotlight: Sato Co.

LOS ANGELES: Brazil’s Sato Co., which has attended the L.A. Screenings since 1989, returns to the market with content ranging from animated fare to classic martial-arts productions.

“The expectations [for this market] are big, as everyone is looking into Brazilian products,” says Nelson Sato, the company’s CEO.

Among this content is the animated title Ronaldinho Gaucho’s Team, a kids’ series about the titular international soccer star. Additionally, Sato Co. is highlighting action films starring martial-arts legends Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan. Movies from the Lee lineup include The Big Boss and the documentary Bruce Lee: In His Own Words, while Chan’s slate includes titles such as The Protector, Armour of God I and Armour of God II. The company is also showcasing the original 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film.
