TEL AVIV: Keshet International (KI) has appointed Frank Scheuermann as head of development and production for its business in Latin America, where it’s looking to expand local production capabilities.

Scheuermann joins the company from Sony’s Colombian production company, Teleset, where he has held several roles over the last 16 years, most recently serving as head of light entertainment. Scheuermann will oversee KI’s development slate and production output within the region, reporting into Keshet International’s recently promoted head of Latin America, Kelly Wright.

Building on the company’s current co-development deals and productions in the region, Scheuermann will look to identify titles from KI’s catalogue to adapt for Latin American audiences with local sensibility. He will also develop original IP and ideas for new formats, alongside nurturing new and existing relationships with local buyers, sponsorship partners and talent.

Wright commented: “Frank is a well-respected producer with proven format adaptation skills and a keen business sense. We’re thrilled to bring him on board at a very busy period of growth for Keshet in the region, and we are looking to expand on our distribution model by offering additional creative services and production solutions to our clients across the region from the U.S. Hispanic to Argentina.”

Scheuermann added: “Keshet has already had some well-deserved success in Latin America, which I found very impressive. There is a tremendous and exciting challenge ahead, but I feel it’s the right time and the right place to realize our ambitions.”
