Investigation Discovery Headed to Latin America

ACAPULCO: Discovery Networks Latin America/US Hispanic is bringing the Investigation Discovery network to Latin America, taking the place of the channel Liv.

Launching June 9, the channel will be the first in Latin America that is entirely dedicated to the suspense, crime and investigation genre. The channel will broadcast in the region dramas such as Hawaii Five-0, Blue Bloods, Dexter and Prison Break. There’s also a heavy roster of real-life programming, including Scorned: Love Kills, Deadly Sins, Unusual Suspects, Cold Blood and Nightmare Next Door. Movies such as Donnie Brasco, El Crimen del Padre Amaro, Cape Fear and Inside Man are part of the lineup as well.

“Investigation Discovery demonstrates our continuing commitment to offer content that captivates our audience, and it strengthens our offering of entertainment channels by focusing exclusively on suspense, crime and investigation,” commented Enrique Martínez, DLA/USH’s president and general manager. “We know that there is great audience demand for this type of programming at the global level and we are confident that it will also be a success in Latin America, among both our viewers as well as with our affiliate and ad sales partners.”
