STOCKHOLM: Eccho Rights has lined up sales for the drama Karadayi in Argentina and Chile.

Karadayi is slated to premiere on Mega in Chile this month, and it will make its debut in Argentina on Telefe on December 1, with both channels airing the show under its original title. The drama series tells the story of Mahir, whose father is jailed for a murder he did not commit. Mahir embarks on a mission to find the real killer, drawing his family into a war with the criminals behind the crime. Karadayi is produced by Ay Yapim (Ezel, Fatmagül, Black Money Love). Earlier this year, Eccho Rights inked deals with the two channels for the Turkish drama Ezel.

Barbora Susterova, the sales and acquisitions director for Latin America and Iberia at Eccho Rights, commented, “Over the past year the demand for Turkish drama has really taken off in Latin America. The mixture of strong characters and engaging story lines appeals to the local audience and there are many similarities to the traditional telenovela format.”

She added: “With Turkish exports scoring well in the ratings, we expect the popularity of the genre to continue to grow amongst broadcasters in the region and are confident we will close new deals at next week’s MIPCancun.”
