TEL AVIV/BOGOTÁ: Colombian network Caracol TV has released a second-screen app to accompany its show The Voice Colombia and that will also feature news, sports programming and video on demand, among other features.

The app, called Parlar TV, was developed by Applicaster, a company that has created similar products for versions of The Voice in the Netherlands, Mexico and Israel.

Fans of the reality show can use Parlar TV to comment on the proceedings, share their thoughts on the competition and vote for their favorite contestants.

“Parlar TV is a new channel for us catering to our audiences in additional settings and viewership opportunities, for entertainment, news and sports programming,” said Camilo Acuña, the VP of programming for Caracol TV. “The social buzz and commercial potential of this additional viewer participation is rapidly growing in the region, and we are keen on serving our viewers and extending the reach of our content through interaction and social features.”
