BBC Worldwide Preps Showcase in Latin America

MIAMI: The tenth edition of the BBC Showcase Latin America is taking place August 18 to 20 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, at the Windsor Atlântica Hotel in Copacabana.

This year’s market will include special guests such as Jonathan Goodwin, an escapist and stuntman from the series Dangerman: The Incredible Mr. Goodwin; Lucina Axelsson, series producer from the BBC Natural History Unit; and Alvaro Paes de Barros, the head of content for YouTube in Brazil. The showcase will also feature a special session for Doctor Who as part of the 50th anniversary celebration for the hit sci-fi series.

Fred Medina, the executive VP and managing director for BBC Worldwide Latin America/U.S. Hispanic, said: “Building on the success of this content sales event, the tenth edition of BBC Showcase Latin America will also feature a broader business portfolio, to enable key customers to extend the audience experience through: formats and co-production, digital, consumer products and branded environments.”
