PARIS: Laurens Drillich, the president of Endemol Shine Latino; Joshua Mintz, deputy to the president of TV Azteca; and Tomas Yankelevich, the content and international business director at Telefe, have joined the lineup of the third MIP Cancun Latin American TV Market and Summit.

MIP Cancun takes place in the Mexican resort of Cancun from November 16 to 18. Day one of the summit covers areas such as new ideas to develop creativity and discover new voices. Delegates will find out how to map a new path to viewers with programming strategies for 2017, with Ignacio Barrera, the head of the acquisitions department at Albavision; Anna Gordon, the executive VP and managing director for Latin America at BBC Worldwide; German Groba, the director of programming for Disney Channels Latin America at The Walt Disney Company Latin America; and Mayolo Reyes, the head of business development at Canal 11. Showrunners will describe their new needs—both creative and budgetary—and how producers and partners can adapt, with industry speakers including Caupolican Ovalles and Jose Eduardo Pardo. Additionally, experts will share case studies of projects that have successfully been adapted and crossed into new markets and how remakes can top the ratings from speakers such as Juan Ignacio Vicente, the head of content at Mega.

On Thursday, November 17, sessions will focus on new business opportunities and financing models, with top executives such as Michela Giorelli, the VP of production and development at Discovery Networks Latin America/U.S. Hispanic; Coty Cagliolo, the VP of development for LatAm at FremantleMedia Latin America; and Flavio Morales, the executive VP at Endemol Shine Latino for U.S. initiatives. Meanwhile, Eric Jurgensen, CEO and CCO of América Televisión; Brendan Fitzgerald, the managing director of Pomodoro Stories; and producer Arnaldo Limansky will be exploring the challenges and advantages of co-production.

On Friday, November 18, for the first time in any market across Latin America, newcomers to webseries, formats and scripted content will present the newest productions or projects to the MIP Cancun community.

MIP Cancun Summit delegates will also hear keynote addresses by Manuel Abud, the president and CEO of Azteca America; John Farrell, the director of YouTube Latinoamerica; and Cris Abrego, co-chairman of Endemol Shine Americas and co-CEO of Endemol Shine North America.
