MIAMI: Xbox Video users in Latin America can now download content from the BBC directly to their Xbox 360 system, thanks to an agreement with BBC Worldwide.

The BBC series Doctor Who, Sherlock and Top Gear are part of the deal, along with docs and concerts. The content is available for download via a dedicated space on the Xbox 360 console interface in Latin American markets. Since the Xbox Video selection is stored in the cloud, users can enjoy the BBC programming across multiple devices wherever they go. The BBC content will be available initially in Mexico and will be offered soon in other countries, including Brazil.

"We are pleased to expand our digital distribution in Latin America in partnership with Microsoft," said Fred Medina, the executive VP and managing director of BBC Worldwide for Latin America and U.S. Hispanic. "The quality of our cast programming catalogue is well known around the world and is the perfect fit for Xbox Video. As an international media company our goal is to take the BBC experience to our fans, wherever they may be. This agreement enables us to interact with young audiences looking for top-quality entertainment on platforms that are more familiar to them."

"The BBC is known worldwide for its quality content," commented Paul Davidson, the director of Xbox Video at Microsoft. "Thanks to this agreement with BBC Worldwide, Xbox Video users in Latin America will be able to enjoy popular BBC TV shows on Xbox 360."
