Sierra/Engine Sells Pair of Shows to UniMás

LOS ANGELES: Sierra/Engine Television and UniMás have signed a deal for the exclusive rights for the Mexican drama Niño Santo and the action-adventure drama SAF3 (formerly known as Rescue 3).

Niño Santo follows a team of young doctors who are sent to vaccinate people in a remote village against a worldwide epidemic. They soon discover that they are protected by a cult-like leader, who miraculously cures the sick and teaches that the village is "touched by the hand of God." SAF3 focuses on Southern California's rescue task force made up of elites from the Malibu Fire Department. The series has been sold in more than 50 countries.

“With their colossal reach among Hispanics, Univision Communications is the gateway to this rapidly growing demographic and the perfect partner to help bring these terrific new shows to U.S. Hispanic audiences,” commented Chris Philip, CEO.

“Acquiring rights for series such as SAF3 and Niño Santo speaks to our commitment to delivering the best alternative programming on UniMás,” added Alberto Ciurana, the president programming and content at Univision Communications.
