LONDON: Marta Suplicy, the Brazilian minister of culture, and Lord Green of Hurstpierpoint, the U.K.’s minister of state for trade and investment, have entered a film co-production agreement to strengthen collaborations between the two countries.

The initiatives will promote stronger ties between ABPITV (Brazilian Association of TV Independent Producers) and the British market. The two markets already share several common and complementary characteristics, including the structure of their industries, the cinematic culture of each country and the availability in each market of facilities and filming locations and skilled labor.

The agreement was signed by ABPITV’s president, Marco Altberg, and by PACT’s executive director, John McVay. The collaboration has been jointly signed by the ministry of culture’s audiovisual secretariat, the national cinema agency and the British council.
