MIAMI: Mexican mountain climber Carlos Carsolio is narrating Frozen Planet for Discovery en Español, which will launch the series July 8.

The program, a co-production from the BBC, Discovery and The Open University, is headed to Discovery en Español for a six-episode run. It will launch on the channel on July 8, airing Monday through Friday in a 9 p.m. time slot. Frozen Planet was produced over the course of four years, chronicling the power of the world’s climate and oceans and looking at how seasonal changes affect the Earth’s landscape and animals as well as human beings.

Frozen Planet is a combination of surprising images and stories of survival that make it a marvelous journey through some of the most spectacular places on the planet,” commented Eileen Pineiro, the content director at Discovery en Español. “Without a doubt, the narration of a professional like Carlos Carsolio, with his spirit of adventure, passion for heights and personal experiences in the mountains, makes this production an unforgettable voyage for our audience.”
