Sinking Ship to Launch Dino Dana in Cannes

TORONTO: Sinking Ship Entertainment is heading to MIPCOM to introduce the new kids’ series Dino Dana and the latest season of Bookaboo to international buyers.

Dino Dana follows the successful series Dino Dan and Trek’s Adventures, adding new dinosaur adventures to the franchise. Sinking Ship is also presenting the newest season of Bookaboo, which the company co-produced with Happy Films.

Both series were commissioned by Amazon Studios for the U.S., U.K., Germany and Japan. In Canada, Dino Dana was commissioned by TVO, while Bookaboo airs on CBC.

At the market, Sinking Ship Entertainment will also showcase its award-winning series Odd Squad and Annedroids. The company is looking for additional broadcast and licensing partners for the Odd Squad brand, which counts among its extensions a theatrical film and live tour. Another preschool series from Sinking Ship is Playdate, commissioned by Family Jr. in Canada.

MIPCOM marks the inaugural market for Sinking Ship’s expanded distribution division since the acquisition of Picture Box Distribution.

“It’s been exciting to be a part of this team that creates meaningful programming for kids around the world,” said Kate Sanagan, who shares the position of head of sales with Marilyn Kynaston. “Launching the first movie and live tour across North America was an important first step in our brand expansion, and we’re confident that the Sinking Ship presence will only continue to grow around the world with our other award-winning programs.”
