LONDON: INK Global has signed on to manage licensing for the Netflix original animated series Beat Bugs in Europe (excluding the U.K.), Russia/CIS, the Middle East and North Africa.

Created by Josh Wakely, Beat Bugs uses cover songs of The Beatles music to tell positive stories about a group of endearing young insects. Under its multi-territory deal with licensing company Centa IP that spans merchandising, publishing, promotions and events, INK Global will initially focus on toys, publishing and apparel. Products are slated to hit retail next year.

Claus Tømming, INK Global’s managing partner, commented: “For the past ten years, we have been looking for a unique music-driven kids’ property—and Beat Bugs is the dream come true. It fits everything we are trying to do at INK. It’s funny, it’s fresh, it’s original and it combines a fantastic story with some of the greatest music ever created. We are delighted to team up with Centa IP on this franchise. We see enormous potential for Beat Bugs and we are inviting all our partners across Europe, Russia/CIS and MENA to join us on this magical mystery tour!”

“I don’t believe there is another children’s property that has so many winning elements to it,” added Centa IP CEO Geoff Rosenhain. “This property is quickly shaping up to have a deep licensing program around the world and we are thrilled to be working with INK on this exciting, multi-territory adventure.”
