Mattel Adventure Park Coming to Kansas City

A Mattel Adventure Park, developed in partnership between Mattel and Epic Resort Destinations, is set to open in Bonner Springs, Kansas, outside Kansas City, in 2026.

The new park will offer the same attractions found in Glendale, Arizona’s Mattel Adventure Park, including fully themed Hot Wheels roller coasters, Thomas & Friends rides, Barbie experiences, Masters of the Universe games and much more. The companies plan to break ground in Kansas later this year.

Among the Hot Wheels roller coasters that will be part of the Kansas City park are the Hot Wheels Bone Shaker: The Ultimate Ride, featuring the hot rod’s skull design, and the Hot Wheels Twin Mill Racer, a double-looping adrenaline ride.

In the Thomas & Friends: World of Sodor section of the park, there will be five family-friendly experiential attractions and rides, including a dedicated indoor play space.

The park will be home to a larger-than-life Barbie Beach House, with an interactive retail experience where fans can build their own customized Barbie set in the Barbie Dream Closet Experience, which uses hologram technology to bring Barbie to life. The attraction will also includes a Barbie-themed flying theater and the Barbie Rooftop restaurant and bar.

Mattel Adventure Park Kansas City will also feature a He-Man vs. Skeleton Laser Tag arena and a mini golf experience featuring 18 holes inspired by Magic 8 Ball, Pictionary and other Mattel games. There will also be a custom climb UNO structure.
