Former RTL Group chief Bert Habets has been named the new group CEO at ProSiebenSat.1 Media, replacing Rainer Beaujean.

CANAL+ Group has appointed Anna Marsh, CEO of STUDIOCANAL, as its deputy CEO.

Cédric Brignon has been appointed CFO at Banijay, effective November 1.

ProSiebenSat.1 Media is taking 100 percent control of the video platform Joyn, buying out Warner Bros. Discovery's stake in the venture.

The total investment in European original production hit €17.4 billion ($17.3 billion) in 2021, per a report from the European Audiovisual Observatory, with 16 percent of that coming from the streamers.

Revenues for the first half of the year at RTL Group rose by 8.7 percent to €3.3 billion ($3.4 billion), a new record for the company, but profit dropped to €304 million ($314 million) and the company has revised its 2022 outlook due to the “challenging macroeconomic environment.”

For the first half of 2022, ITV's revenues rose by 9 percent to £2 billion ($2.4 billion), with an adjusted profit before tax of £301 million ($365 million).

ITV has scored a slate of more than 400 hours of anime and true-crime content for ITVX ahead of the streaming service's launch later this year.

Viaplay Group has reported a 69 percent gain in its subscriber base to 5.5 million and is accelerating its plans for the U.K. with the acquisition of Premier Sports.

Jane Millichip, most recently chief content officer at Sky Studios, has been tapped as CEO of BAFTA.
