Sky Reveals Upcoming New Original Slate

Sky has unveiled its largest-ever slate of new programming, featuring titles across drama, comedy, documentary and film.

The upcoming slate features three original comedies, including Romantic Getaway, starring Romesh Ranganathan and Katherine Ryan. Rosie Molloy Gives Up Everything and Christmas Carole are also part of the 2022-23 slate.

Additional new series are an adaptation of Heather Morris’s best-selling novel The Tattooist of Auschwitz; Got Got Need, executive produced by Jack Whitehall and fronted by Jamie and Harry Redknapp; and Hold the Front Page, starring Nish Kumar and Josh Widdicombe.

The documentary slate features the new anthology Lost and Found and the one-off special The Numan Method, both slated to debut later this year on Sky Arts, Freeview and NOW.

The Sky lineup also includes a range of original films such as Aisha, starring Letitia Wright; After Yang, with Colin Farrell; The Independent, featuring Brian Cox, Jodie Turner-Smith, John Cena and Ann Dowd; and Poker Face, directed by Russell Crowe and starring Liam Hemsworth.

Fantasy Football League is set to return, with brand-new hosts: Matt Lucas and Elis James. Never Mind the Buzzcocks, hosted by Greg Davies, will also return with a second season, with Noel Fielding and Daisy May Cooper heading up the teams.

Speaking on the new commissions, Zai Bennett, managing director of content for Sky UK and Ireland, said, “Great stories have the power to help us connect with each other, and at its best, entertainment isn’t something we watch, it’s something we feel and experience. That’s why we’re creating and investing in world-class original storytelling to give our customers even more of their favorite shows and films than ever before. We’re delighted to be working with some of the best U.K. and international talent, both on- and off-screen, to bring these stories to life.”
