Viaplay Scores Dutch Distribution Deals

Nordic Entertainment Group’s Viaplay has signed multiyear distribution deals in the Netherlands with KPN and VodafoneZiggo.

The partnership with KPN will make Viaplay available to 3.6 million households in the Netherlands. Beginning in March, KPN customers will be able to add a Viaplay subscription to their entertainment bundle or subscribe on a stand-alone basis.

The deal with VodafoneZiggo will make Viaplay accessible to an additional 4 million households. Also beginning in March, a Viaplay subscription can be added to Ziggo customers’ TV or broadband packages.

Both deals will provide Dutch viewers with Viaplay originals, Hollywood films and series, kids’ content and premium live sports, including Formula 1, PDC Darts and Bundesliga football. Premier League football is set to come in August 2022.

Regarding the VodafoneZiggo deal, Poder noted: “Ziggo has significant reach and an established position in sports, and we will work together to help as many viewers as possible get to know Viaplay. This partnership will make it easy for Ziggo customers to enjoy our unique offering from day one.”
