SPI/FilmBox’s Gametoon HD Heads to Portugal

SPI International/FilmBox has launched its Gametoon HD channel in Portugal, per an agreement with the Portuguese TV operator MEO.

Gametoon HD, billed as a channel “built by gamers for gamers,” is aimed at millennials and revolves around gaming and esports from around the world. It features highlights of popular video games, entertainment content from gaming YouTubers and video game tournaments, among other offerings. Gametoon HD also offers exclusive content and time slots such as Stream Nation and esports tournaments.

Georgina Twiss, managing director for Western Europe and Africa at SPI International, said: “Gametoon HD has offered us a unique opportunity to partner with MEO and to create a channel that will really resonate with the gaming community. In addition to this channel, the Gametoon app has also launched on the platform housing our wholly-owned content.
