SPI International/FilmBox has begun measuring viewership of its premium movie channel FilmBox Stars in the Czech Republic as it diversifies its slate.

FilmBox Stars is diversifying its programming slate to expand its viewership, especially across the female demographic. In addition to the Hollywood hits and blockbusters with A-list celebrities the channel already broadcasts, it will move to include more romantic comedies, dramas, thrillers, biographical and family movies, as well as local Czech content.

The new weekly prime-time programming grid will include dramas starring A-list Hollywood stars on Mondays, romantic movies on Tuesdays, thrillers on Wednesdays, popular Czech films on Thursdays, comedies on Fridays and biographical/historical movies on Saturdays. Sundays will feature the hit/premiere of the week.

In the upcoming weeks, Magic Mike, Book Club, Divoké vcely, Two Night Stand, Protektor and The Iron Lady will broadcast.

“The strategic decision to make FilmBox Stars a measurable channel is a step forward that builds on the success of FilmBox, which has established itself as the leader in the pay movie market in Czechia for almost two years and counting,” said Berk Uziyel, CEO of SPI International. “We are grateful for the ongoing support of SPI/FilmBox audiences in Czechia, and we undertake this change as a means to elevate their entertainment experience with more targeted content offerings and the goal of making FilmBox Stars the second most-watched pay-movie TV channel in the market.”
