Ulla Streib Joins Tin Roof Media

Ulla Streib has been appointed by Tin Roof Media to the role of director of operations, a position that will see her work with Blink Films and Outline Productions.

In her new role, Streib will work alongside Blink Films Co-Founders Dan Chambers and Justine Kershaw and Outline Co-Founders Laura Mansfield and Helen Veale to sustain and build on both indies’ current growth. She will develop commissions from new platforms and broadcasters and increase international distribution activity for both companies.

Streib joins Tin Roof Media from the natural-history producer Talesmith. She has also recently worked as supervising producer on Caravan Media and Quicksilver Media’s first Netflix Original series, Killer Ratings. Streib was previously the director of operations at Lightbox, overseeing the company’s first Netflix Original Series, Captive, and was a member of the senior management team at Darlow Smithson Productions, responsible for projects including the Emmy-nominated Into the Universe with Stephen Hawking.

Recent commissions for Blink include Shut Ins for Channel 4; a second season of We’ll Meet Again for PBS; season six of Treasures Decoded for Channel 5, Smithsonian, France 5 and SBS;
and Monty Don’s Japanese Gardens for BBC 2. Outline recently commissioned four-part formatted series Remarkable Places to Eat with Fred Serieix and Sarah Beeny’s Renovate Don’t Relocate (UKTV). Blink series The Creative Brain, Joy of Techs and Monty Don’s Italian Gardens have been picked up by Netflix, while Outline’s Health Freaks format is being produced as Medicine or Myth for a second season by SBS Australia.

Streib said: “It was a hard decision to leave Martin Williams and the team at Talesmith as they grow the business with some really exciting new projects, but the opportunity to work with two such fantastic, creative teams at Blink and Outline was too good to pass up. I’m really excited about helping both companies to develop their businesses and take them to the next level.”

Blink’s Chambers and Kershaw commented: “We’re thrilled about having Ulla join as we build on recent new commissions and secure further recommissions of our series. We’re particularly looking to draw on her expertise and experience securing and overseeing content for new platforms to help us add to our existing client base.”

Outline’s Mansfield and Veale added: “Ulla’s track record of achieving strategic growth and helping deliver high-profile, high-quality content for some of the U.K.’s leading indies makes her an ideal fit for Outline, we’re delighted to have her on board.”
