Tin Roof Media Hires for New Legal & Business Affairs Role

Tin Roof Media, the television content group housing Blink Films and Outline Productions, has appointed Charisma Jones as its first head of legal and business affairs.

Jones will be responsible for all legal and business affairs for Blink and Outline across the group’s production bases in London and Chepstow. She joins from Warner Bros. International Television Production UK, where she was senior legal counsel. There, she oversaw legal and business affairs on series such as First Dates, A House Through Time, Five Star Chef, Ben Fogle: New Lives in the Wild and Our Yorkshire Farm.

Prior to that, Jones was at Lime Pictures, where she worked on shows including TOWIE and Celebs Go Dating. She has also held legal and business affairs roles at UKTV and Channel 5.

The newly created role at Tin Roof Media reflects ongoing growth across both of its companies, with a slate that includes Blink Films’ Miriam and Alan: Lost in Scotland (Channel 4), Tut’s Toxic Tomb (National Geographic, Science Channel and Channel 4), Secrets of the Oligarch Wives (CBS/Paramount+), Ken and Barbie Killers: The Lost Murder Tapes (Discovery+), as well as Outline Productions’ Sarah Beeny’s New Life in the Country (Channel 4) and Michel Roux’s French Country Cooking (Food Network).

Ulla Streib, group director of operations at Tin Roof Media, said: “As the volume and complexity of our work for U.K. and U.S. networks and streamers increases, we are bolstering our group team with this newly created role. I’m delighted to have Charisma joining us; she combines high-quality experience with the ability to grow with the group as it expands.”

Jones said: “I am really excited to join Tin Roof Media at such a pivotal time for the business due to the growth of the group and ever-expanding slate of diverse projects across both its labels. Funding and producing content is becoming increasingly complex, and I look forward to setting up their legal infrastructure as their first in-house business affairs support to provide the team with all the tools they need to continue making great shows!”

Tin Roof Media Chairman Rod Henwood added: “Tin Roof Media’s growth is currently accelerating, as its two companies expand both the number of shows in production and their roster of clients, as well as putting together an increasing number of international coproductions. I’m very pleased to have Charisma on board as we continue to build the business.”
