Shirley Ballas to Head Spin-Off of CBBC’s Our School

CBBC and Twofour Group have commissioned Our School Summer Camp, a spin-off of the documentary series Our School, with Shirley Ballas at the helm as head teacher.

The 10×25-minute series will air this summer on CBBC. It follows a diverse group of students from across the U.K. as they spend two weeks together at a special summer camp in the countryside. Each day, the students will do various activities together, ranging from boot camps to lip sync contests.

In her role, Ballas will set the agenda for the day’s tasks and monitor the students’ progress. Our School, which launched in 2014 and is currently in its fifth season, with a sixth already commissioned, follows students in different schools as they start their academic years.

The series’ executive producer, Richard Marson, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Shirley to the Our School Summer Camp. She’s warm, wise, funny and doesn’t miss a trick—everything you need from a top head teacher.”
