Rai.Com Heads to Cannes with Diverse Slate

Rai.Com is gearing up for MIPTV, where it will showcase a diverse portfolio that spans scripted programming, movies, documentaries, kids’ shows, music, sports and more.

In the way of scripted series, the company has on offer Rai 1’s Il Commissario Montalbano, penned by Andrea Camilleri and produced with Palomar. There is also the Linea Verticale series on Rai 3, Paradiso delle Signore, La Strada di Casa, I Bastardi di PizzofalconeNon Uccidere and the costume drama The Promised Life. Ghost Towns is already drumming up strong interest, the company reports.

Regarding documentaries, Rai.Com is focusing on stories that showcase its country’s heritage: “Italy narrated by Italians.” This includes Wonders, featuring Alberto Angela. Wonders, a Journey in Italy (Meraviglie, un vaggio in Italia) is offered as six hour-long episodes.

The slate of music content covers operas, ballets, classical concerts and more. The movie catalog houses Dogman, the latest Matteo Garrone film; Freak Out by Gabriele Mainetti and the animated feature Gatta Cenerentola.

There’s a roster of children’s content as well, including the live-action series Alex & Co and the preschool animation Cat Miro.
