LONDON/OSLO: Nordic World has inked a raft of deals with broadcasters in Norway and Finland for programming from TV4 Sweden, including Leila Bakes in France.

MTV Finland acquired a 71-hour package that includes nine Swedish lifestyle titles, among them Finally Home (Antligen Hemma), which has now been on air for 37 seasons. Also part of the deal are series by Swedish chefs Tina Nordström and Leila Lindholm.

In Norway, a 23.5-hour deal was closed with ‘foodie channel’ Matkanalen, which launched in December and is carried on all the country’s major networks. The package includes Leila Bakes in France, which has been acquired in all the major Nordic territories, as well as in Belgium.

MTG licensed two seasons of TV4’s long-running psychic show The Unknown (Det Okända), now in its 22nd season on Sweden’s largest commercial channel. Discovery Norway went for the Swedish gardening show Trädgårdshjälpen.

Nordic World’s CEO, Espen Huseby, said: “As our name suggests, our heartland has always been the Nordic territories—and, despite our growing international footprint, our focus remains firmly on our home markets. Only the freshest, most original content stands a chance of winning audiences in our super-competitive region, where budgets are low but expectations high. Against this backdrop, these deals, representing more than 120 hours of content, speak volumes about the quality not only of our catalog, but also of our relationships with our producer and broadcaster partners.”
