Channel 4 Renews The Question Jury

LONDON: Channel 4 has commissioned a second season of the daytime reality-quiz hybrid The Question Jury from Monkey.

The Question Jury gives contestants the opportunity to win up to £10,000 each day. The 20×1-hour second season will air daily over four weeks and will premiere early next year.

On the show, seven strangers are locked in a jury room, where they must work together to answer questions correctly and build up their prize fund. A different foreman of the jury will lead each of the question discussions before submitting a verdict. If the foreman can lead the group to a unanimous answer, they will bank the prize money. For the final question, they must decide who has earned the right to be the final foreman and play for the accumulated cash.

Will Macdonald, the creative director of Monkey, said, “The Question Jury is a quiz show unlike any other, mixing great play-along questions with the real-life drama of strangers locked in a room together for a week. As the first [season] showed, the loudest voice isn’t always right and the judgments they make about each other can be as severe as they are fascinating to watch. We’re thrilled that it’s coming back for a second series, and can’t wait to see how the new juries acquit themselves.”

Syeda Irtizaali, the commissioning editor of entertainment at Channel 4, added, “I love watching this show and I love the reaction it gets from viewers whether they love or hate the contestants. I am delighted to bring it back and look forward to working with Monkey on a truly unique quiz.”

The Question Jury is executive produced by Macdonald and Ollie Brack for Monkey. The format is distributed internationally by NBCUniversal International Formats and will be launched at MIPCOM.
