SVT Drama Chief Christian Wikander Heads to Pinewood

LONDON: Christian Wikander, currently the head of drama at Swedish pubcaster SVT, is joining Pinewood Television as co-production director.

During his time at SVT, Wikander and his department are credited with developing and producing international hits such as The Bridge, Real Humans and Jordskott. At Pinewood Television, he will be tasked with devising a co-production strategy outside of the U.K., working with production companies, broadcasters and OTT providers to develop, produce and finance high-end drama series.

Wikander will be reporting to Pinewood Television’s creative director, Helen Gregory. His remit will include sourcing projects looking for finance as well as taking the company’s own projects to international partners. Wikander starts with Pinewood in October.
