ISTANBUL: A+E Networks is launching Lifetime as a free-to-air channel tomorrow in Turkey.

Lifetime Turkey will operate under the tagline “The World is Mine.” The service will feature scripted series, movies and unscripted shows from the U.S. Lifetime channel, alongside popular formats adapted for Turkey’s audience. The channel debuts with a live broadcast, Let Life Begin, hosted by Turkey’s own Özge Uzun and featuring psychologist Yasemin Meriç.

Lifetime Turkey will receive support from global initiatives for socially responsible projects for women and children in Turkey. Lifetime Turkey is a result of a joint venture between A+E Networks and MCD Media.

Lifetime Turkey’s founding partner and CEO, Esra Oflaz Güvenkaya, said, “With unique and rich content created over its 32-year history, Lifetime has earned numerous awards, particularly in the U.S., but also all around the world, and we are proud to present Lifetime to Turkish television viewers on free-to-air TV. Nowadays, all free-to-air television channels are so similar. We are pleased to provide the quality of a premier channel in a free-to-air environment for our nation because we believe viewers and advertisers desire a free-to-air television alternative that is new and different from traditional channels.”
