Ireland’s UTV Confirms Sales Talks

BELFAST: UTV Media has confirmed that it is in discussions regarding a potential sale of its TV assets, with ITV reportedly set to purchase the Northern Irish broadcaster.

The board of UTV Media released a statement regarding the media speculation that said: "Discussions are ongoing and may or may not result in such a transaction being agreed. A further announcement will be made when appropriate."

UTV has been locally owned since its launch in Belfast in 1959. The regional broadcaster is home to a slew of ITV programming.
