Endemol Shine Group Taps Yahoo EMEA Exec

LONDON: Endemol Shine Group has appointed Wim Ponnet as the group director of strategy and commercial development, effective this fall.

In his new role, Ponnet will be charged with defining and implementing Endemol Shine Group’s global strategy, working closely with the company’s local leaders and partners around the world. He will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, including acquisitions and expansion into new markets, while also tracking and leveraging market trends. His duties will also include overseeing the Group’s commercial, M&A, Endemol Beyond and research teams. He will report directly to Endemol Shine Group’s CEO Sophie Turner Laing and will work out of the London and Amsterdam offices.

Ponnet joins Endemol Shine Group from Yahoo EMEA, where he has served as senior director of strategy and operations since 2011. Prior to that, he held senior positions at Coca Cola in Switzerland.
