Sonar Brings On Two International Sales Execs

LOS ANGELES: Sonar Entertainment is boosting its global sales team, hiring Axel Boehm and Patrick Phelan to drive sales across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Boehm takes on the role of senior VP of international sales, charged with overseeing Sonar’s EMEA sales team. Territories for which he is directly responsible include Germany, Scandinavia, Benelux, Spain and Portugal. He will report to Marielle Zuccarelli, the executive VP of international distribution for Sonar Entertainment. Boehm formerly served as senior VP of European sales at Red Arrow.

Phelan, meanwhile, was named VP of international sales, with a remit including Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and CIS, the Middle East and Israel. Phelan joins Sonar from TANDEM/STUDIOCANAL, where he had been senior sales manager since 2009. The exec joins London-based international sales coordinator Louise Oliver in reporting to Boehm.

Both Boehm and Phelan will be based in Munich.

“These new additions to our sales team correspond to Sonar’s rapidly expanding slate of original programming either scheduled for air, in production or in development,” said Zuccarelli. “The appointments of Axel and Patrick are critical in ensuring that we are able to meet the needs of our customers throughout the world.”
