MUNICH: International distributor Global Screen has named Alexandra Heidrich head of TV sales and acquisitions, replacing industry vet Marlene Fritz upon her retirement July 1.

Alexandra Heidrich comes to the role having spent three years as sales and acquisition manager for TV formats at the company. She previously worked in acquisition, development and production at various FremantleMedia companies. Fritz, who has worked in the industry for 43 years, joined Global Screen three years ago.

Thomas Weymar, Global Screen’s CEO, said: “Alexandra Heidrich’s huge experience with clients worldwide and her excellent sense of trends and development will be invaluable as we further shape Global Screen’s sales and acquisitions strategy. I am very sorry to see Marlene Fritz go. She was a critical but loyal companion for many years at Telepool and Global Screen and I will miss her incomparable ability to inspire and invigorate all of those around her.”

“Alexandra Heidrich has brought excellent contacts to some of Germany’s biggest production houses to Global Screen and also has a big international network,” commented Global Screen CEO Rolf Moser. “Under her leadership, we’ll pursue our goal in offering the best of family entertainment, as well as thrilling event movies, lavishly produced romances and long-running series.”
