FilmBox Channels Head to Latvia

NEW YORK: SPI International is boosting the presence of its FilmBox brand in the Baltics, launching film and sports channels in Latvia.

The movie network FilmBox Baltic and the extreme-sports channel Fast&FunBox are now slated to premiere on telecom operator SIA Lattelecom. Latvian cable operator SIA Livas also recently signed a distribution deal with SPI, offering FilmBox Baltic in its basic digital package and FightBox in its sports package.


“We are very excited to launch our channels in Latvia and bring top entertainment content to movie and sports fans in this country,” said Berk Uziyel, the executive director of Filmbox International, which distributes the channels. “Recently, we have broadcast a very successful kickboxing event from Latvia on the FightBox channel. It feels good to know that the local fans will be able to watch this show and the next ones on FightBox in their homes.”
