BAFTA TV Nominations for Olivia Colman, Benedict Cumberbatch

LONDON: Happy Valley, Marvellous, The Missing and Line of Duty lead the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) TV nominations with three nods each.

Marvellous is nominated in the category for single drama, alongside A Poet in New York, Common and Murdered By My Boyfriend. In the drama series category, the nominees are Happy Valley, Line of Duty, The Missing and Peaky Blinders. The four nominees for miniseries this year are Cilla, The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies, Our World and Prey. The soap and continuing drama category features Casualty, Coronation Street, EastEnders and Hollyoaks.

In the way of international series, The Good Wife is facing off with House of Cards, Orange Is the New Black and True Detective.

Benedict Cumberbatch receives his third BAFTA nomination for Sherlock, up against Toby Jones (Marvellous), James Nesbitt (The Missing) and Jason Watkins (The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies) in the lead actor category. The lead actress nominees are Georgina Campbell (Murdered By My Boyfriend), Keeley Hawes (Line of Duty), Sarah Lancashire (Happy Valley) and Sheridan Smith (Cilla). Supporting actor nods go to Adeel Akhtar (Utopia), James Norton (Happy Valley), Stephen Rea (The Honourable Woman) and Ken Stott (The Missing). In the supporting actress category, the nominees are Gemma Jones (Marvellous), Vicky McClure (Line of Duty), Amanda Redman (Tommy Cooper: Not Like That, Like This) and Charlotte Spencer (Glue).

Ant and Dec are up for best entertainment performance for Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, competing against Leigh Francis (Celebrity Juice), Graham Norton (The Graham Norton Show) and Claudia Winkleman (Strictly Come Dancing). The female comedy nominees are Olivia Colman (Rev.), Tamsin Greig (Episodes), Jessica Hynes (W1A) and Catherine Tate (Catherine Tate's Nan). The comedy program nominees for male performance are Matt Berry (Toast of London), Hugh Bonneville (W1A), Tom Hollander (Rev.) and Brendan O'Carroll (Mrs Brown's Boys).

Up for the BAFTA win for best scripted comedy are Detectorists, Harry & Paul's Story of the Twos, Moone Boy and The Wrong Mans. The comedy and comedy entertainment program nominees are Charlie Brooker's Weekly Wipe, The Graham Norton Show, Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle and Would I Lie to You.

The factual series nominees are 15,000 Kids and Counting, Educating the East End, Life and Death Row and Protecting Our Parents. Reality and constructed factual sees The Apprentice and I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! up against The Island with Bear Grylls and The Undateables.

The Radio Times Audience Award, which is voted for by members of the public, is a competition between Cilla, EastEnders, Game of Thrones, The Great British Bake Off, The Missing, Sherlock and Strictly Come Dancing.
