SPI Signs New Agreements in Hungary

BUDAPEST: The new SPI/FilmBox team in Budapest has inked a major channel distribution deal with Antenna Hungaria and has launched FilmBox Live on Telenor's My TV.

The FilmBox Premium Pak is now available on Antenna Hungaria. This agreement includes the newly rebranded FilmBox Premium and the FilmBox Family channels. FilmBox Basic launched on Antenna Hungaria late last year.

Meanwhile, the FilmBox Live SVOD service has become available to all Telenor subscribers as part of the Telenor My TV platform. Hungary's Telenor has been offering the FilmBox brand linear channels since early 2014.

"We are very excited to make the FilmBox Live service available to Telenor customers," noted Tamas Fulop, SPI's country manager in Hungary. "Our objective is to launch FilmBox Live with all major operators in 2015. We are also going out of our way to provide all of our FilmBox Premium Pak subscribers with access to the FilmBox Live content as part of their linear subscription via DTH platforms and traditional cable networks."

In addition, the company is continuing its in-depth discussions with Digi.

"Although it is yet too early to disclose the details of the ongoing negotiations with Digi, we hope our premium channel portfolio will soon be part of the Digi offer," stated Berk Uziyel, the executive director of Filmbox International.
