More Episodes of Pointless for BBC One

LONDON: BBC One has ordered 204 brand-new episodes of Pointless, a popular game show led by Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman, from Endemol UK's Remarkable Television.

These episodes will air over the course of seasons 11, 12 and 13 on BBC Daytime. The agreement also includes 24 episodes of the prime-time Saturday night hit Pointless Celebrities.

James Fox, the head of entertainment at Remarkable Television, stated: "We're extremely proud of the success of Pointless, which has become a juggernaut hit for BBC One in the hands of our much-loved hosts Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman. In the upcoming episodes, viewers can expect many more obscure facts as well as a host of surprises, including Alexander and Richard's attempt at creating the 2014 UK entry to the Eurovision Song Contest."

Pam Cavannagh, commissioning editor for the BBC, added: "It is great to see Pointless go from strength to strength, pulling in stellar ratings for BBC One in both its weekday and prime-time Saturday night spot."

In other news, the Pointless app, which contains both one-player and versus-friends modes, will become available for iOS and Android devices this month.
