MD in Place for A+E Networks Italy

NEW YORK/ROME: Following an announcement earlier this week regarding the creation of A+E Networks Italy, Sherin Salvetti has been appointed as managing director of the new Rome-based operation.

Salvetti is responsible for all channel operations, including programming and production, marketing, sales activities, digital and broadcast operations. Salvetti is currently the senior VP of factual and channel services for FOX International Channels Italy, where she manages brands such as HISTORY, the National Geographic Channels bouquet and Baby TV. Prior to this she was in a programming and production role with RAI. Her new post sees her reporting to Dean Possenniskie, the managing director for Europe at A+E Networks.

A+E Networks Italy is planning to launch Crime + Investigation (CI) in the market on December 16. It has also announced its intention to assume full ownership of HISTORY in Italy from FOX International Channels in early 2014.

“Sherin is a 25-year industry veteran with a unique understanding of the Italian TV landscape, and we’re thrilled to have her at the helm of our first wholly owned operation in Europe. Sherin’s passion for content and knowledge of A+E’s brands make her best placed to manage A+E Networks’ growth in this vital market,” said Possenniskie.
