Sky Deutschland Delivers Strong Q3

UNTERFÖHRING: Record revenue growth in Sky Deutschland's third quarter drove an increase of 19 percent, reaching 392.7 million euros ($529.5 million).

Subscription revenues were the main driver, up from Q3 2012's 306.6 million euros ($413.4 million) to 356.8 million euros ($481.1 million), with higher sub numbers and a 1.85 euros ($2.49) increase in ARPU to 34.07 euros ($45.94). 

EBITDA was positive at 29.2 million euros ($39.4 million). Net income was negative 14.2 million euros ($19.1 million), an improvement from Q3 2012's negative 16.5 million euros ($22.3 million).

Direct subscribers are up 76,000 to 3,529,000, while wholesale subscribers are up 155,800 to 280,000, including Deutsche Telekom’s former Ligatotal IPTV and mobile customers. Sky+ customers increased 125,400 to 1,296,000. Sky Premium HD added 109,100 customers to 1,869,400. Sky Go customer sessions were 18.1 million, compared to Q3 2012's 8.2 million, meaning 122-percent year-on-year increase.
