MTG Completes Nice Transaction

STOCKHOLM: Modern Times Group has received regulatory approval from Swedish and Norwegian competition authorities for its acquisition of 86.8 percent of Nice Entertainment Group.

The producer generated revenues of 121.1 million euros for the year ended June 30, 2013. MTG announced its 84.4 million euro ($114 million) investment in the company in September. Nice is the largest independent group of TV production companies in the Nordic region. Its companies have produced such successful formats as Partaj in Sweden, Let's Dance in Norway and the pan-Nordic The Grill Masters and Dinner Disasters.

At MTG, Nice joins a portfolio that includes Strix, Paprika Latino, DRG, Novemberfilm and Redaktörerna.
