UNI Appoints New Managing Director for the U.K.

LONDON: Universal Networks International (UNI) has hired Nicky Douglas as its managing director for the U.K., effective immediately.

In her new position, Douglas will manage the company’s U.K. networks, including Universal Channel, Syfy, E! Entertainment Television, The Style Network and Movies 24. She will work under Duccio Donati, UNI’s executive VP.

Douglas previously served as the head of her own consultancy business, where she provided business and marketing advice to a variety of organizations spanning such fields as media, entertainment, publishing, theater, retain and non-profit. Before that she was the executive VP and managing director for Walt Disney Television International in the Asia Pacific.

Donati commented: "Nicky’s tremendous range of media experience, brand marketing savvy and strategic focus will complement our ambitions for further evolving the channels’ business of NBCUniversal International in the U.K. market, to the benefit of our viewers and platform partners."
