Roster of Talent Headed to MIPTV

PARIS: Thandie Newton, Famke Janssen, Gene Simmons, Eli Roth and Max Irons are among the stars heading to Cannes for this year’s MIPTV.

Thandie Newton (Crash, Mission: Impossible II) will be promoting Entertainment One’s Rogue. The show’s creator, writer and supervising producer, Matthew Parkhill (The Caller), and its executive producer and co-director, Nick Hamm (Killing Bono), will also be there to promote Rogue. Entertainment One is also bringing down rock legend Gene Simmons as a guest.

Famke Janssen (X-Men) is going to be presenting the new thriller Hemlock Grove from Gaumont International Television. She will be joined by the series’ executive producer and the renowned director Eli Roth (Inglorious Basterds, Hostel) and the Swedish actor Bill Skarsgård (Anna Karenina, Simon and the Oaks).

Starz’s Da Vinci’s Demons is lined up to make its World Premiere TV Screening at MIPTV, with writer, executive producer and co-director David S Goyer (The Dark Knight trilogy) and actors Tom Riley (Monroe, Arcadia), Laura Haddock (The Inbetweeners Movie), Lara Pulver (True Blood, Spooks) and Blake Riston (Rock’n Rolla). The show is being sold internationally by BBC Worldwide.

The AMC Studios and Endemol Studios co-production Low Winter Sun will also have a host of talent in Cannes. The British actors Mark Strong (Zero Dark Thirty) and Lennie James (Snatch) will be on the red carpet along with the series’ writer and executive producer Chris Mundy (Hell on Wheels). Endemol will also be there with the comedian and TV host Steve Harvey, who is promoting his new U.S. syndicated daytime series The Steve Harvey Show, which is being distributed by Endemol Worldwide Distribution.

The first episode of Starz’s The White Queen will make its debut at MIPTV. Star Max Irons (The Host) and the series’ author, Philippa Gregory (The Other Boleyn Girl), will be there to present the show.
