ProSiebenSat.1 Reports Record Results

MUNICH: The ProSiebenSat.1 Group saw its revenues rise by 7.7 percent in 2012 to 2.96 billion euros, thanks to the strong performance from its digital segment and its core free-TV business.

The organization called its Digital & Adjacent segment the "strongest growth driver in the financial year 2012." External revenues increased by 38.1 percent, or 96.9 million euros. The ProSiebenSat.1 Group is Germany’s leading seller of video content on the Internet and reaches more than 25 million unique users per month with its online network. Alongside online video, online games, ventures and commerce and music contributed to this segment’s development.

With its German-speaking broadcast segment, ProSiebenSat.1 increased its revenues year-on-year to 1.91 billion euros from 2011’s 1.903 billion euros. This was thanks to a slight lift in advertising revenues. The group also grew strongly in the Content Production & Global Sales segment. External revenues rose to 95.4 million euros, compared to 37.7 million euros reported in the previous year.

Thomas Ebeling, CEO of the ProSiebenSat.1 Group, said: "2012 was another record year for the ProSiebenSat.1 Group. We successfully continued our expansion into the digital world and increased revenues in our Digital & Adjacent segment by almost 40 percent. We also achieved important targets in our core business Free TV: We significantly increased our distribution revenues and successfully established new free-TV stations in Germany and Austria. This puts us in an excellent position for the future. We will continue to intensify the integration of our core TV business and digital operations and develop ProSiebenSat.1 from a traditional television provider into a digital entertainment and e-commerce powerhouse. The group is therefore on track for sustainable and long-term growth."
