Marathon Images CEO Steps Down

PARIS: Pascal Breton is exiting his post as the CEO of Zodiak Media’s Marathon Images, to be replaced by Philippe Alessandri, currently the CEO of Tele Images Productions.

Marathon Images is the production company behind such titles as Dolmen and Saint-Tropez. Breton founded the company in 1990 along with Olivier Brémond. He is now moving on to "pursue new personal projects and to concentrate on being an independent producer." Breton will continue to work with Zodiak Media while producing the series Sous le Soleil de Saint-Tropex and the international co-production Versailles.

Alessandri created Tele Images Productions in 1999, then called Tele Images Kids. He now takes on the role of CEO at Marathon Images, in addition to his current capacities at Tele Images Productions.

Breton commented: “Whilst it is never easy to leave the company one has created and a very talented team with whom strong bonds have been created, this feels like the right time for me to develop more personal projects. It fills me with enormous pride to have grown Marathon to the leading position it has reached in the business, building on successes such as Dolmen or Saint-Tropez. I leave a very talented team of producers behind which I fully trust to continue the business. I will however continue to work with them through the ongoing production of Back to Saint-Tropez and international co-production Versailles.”

David Frank, the CEO of Zodiak Media, added: “Marathon is with no doubt one of the strongest brands of our group and we owe this to Pascal. Pascal won’t be leaving us entirely as he will continue to produce his ongoing series with us. Looking at the future I am very happy that Philippe has agreed to take on responsibility for running Marathon Images, alongside his role at Tele Images Productions. I’m sure Philippe has all the qualities to oversee the highly capable producers Pascal has gathered to create together tomorrow’s drama hits.”

Alessandri said: “I am deeply honored by the confidence the group has placed in me with this new appointment and I am proud to support a team of talented producers in their future developments.”
