Virgin Launches TV Anywhere Service

LONDON: Virgin TV customers can now access programming on the go from their computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones through the new cloud-based Virgin TV Anywhere service.

The service offers the ability for live streaming of up to 45 channels at launch, depending on a customer’s TV package and method of access. This includes a wide range of channels, from entertainment, kids’ and sports, to news and factual, music and movies. It also includes access to premium channels such as Sky Sports and Sky Movies for subscribers of these channels. Additional channels will be added to the lineup in due course.

Virgin TV Anywhere comes with embedded social-media functionality. There is a new app for mobile and tablet devices alongside a brand-new online destination. Customers can find up to 4,000 hours of TV available to watch on demand at any time. There are also catch-up TV services from BBC, ITV, 4oD and Demand 5, along with kids’ channels such as Disney, Disney XD, Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. Virgin TV Anywhere is offered to Virgin TV customers at no additional cost.
