Channel 4 Reveals Fall Highlights

LONDON: Among the shows that Channel 4 has lined up for its fall programming roster are the drama The Fear and the brand-new factual series 999: What’s Your Emergency?

Other factual series for Channel 4 include Drugs Live: The Ecstasy Trial (working title); Guy Martin: Building Britain; The Aristocracy (working title), from filmmaker Patrick Forbes; and a second round of The Food Hospital.

There are a host of comedy and entertainment titles set for the channel’s fall grid, including Full English, an animated series. Gok Wan presents the dating game show Baggage. Returning series include Friday Night Dinner, Peep Show, Derren Brown, a trio of Big Fat Quiz specials and The British Comedy Awards. Further highlights include Alan Carr: Chatty Man and Million Pound Drop Live. The channel will also host the national fundraising event Stand Up to Cancer.

New factual entertainment, features and daytime programming are on their way as well. Highlights include Kevin McCloud: Man Made Home (working title), Hotel Britannia (working title), Jewish Mum of the Year, George Clarke’s Small Space Revolution (working title) and the brand-new Stephen Fry: Gadget Man (working title). Heston Blumenthal leads the new tentatively titled series Heston Feeds 5,000. Jamie Oliver and Jimmy Doherty team up for Jamie and Jimmy’s Food Fight Club.

Drama also tops the slate, including The Fear, which stars Peter Mullan. Further highlights include Everyday, a single feature-length drama; Coup, starring Gabriel Byrne; and the six-part thriller Utopia. Also on the way are Complicit, from writer Guy Hibbert and Run. The Snowman and The Snowdog leads off Channel 4’s Christmas programming. Homeland will be back for its second run.
