Video: The A Word’s Morven Christie & Marcus Wilson

NEW YORK: Morven Christie, who stars as the female lead in The A Word, and producer Marcus Wilson met with TV Drama’s Mansha Daswani to discuss how the series approaches the topic of autism and why this show has the ability to resonate with audiences around the world.

The BBC One drama The A Word made a strong debut earlier this year in the U.K. and has been recommissioned for a second season. The series follows a 5-year-old boy and how his dysfunctional family copes with the revelation that he is autistic. It is based on a Keshet International and July August Productions series and drama format, which was written, directed and created by Keren Margalit. For the U.K., The A Word was co-produced by Fifty Fathoms Productions, Tiger Aspect Productions and Keshet UK, and was developed and written by Peter Bowker (Marvellous, Occupation, Blackpool).
