Carrie-Anne Moss, well known for her role as Trinity in the sci-fi movie trilogy The Matrix, has joined the cast of the Norwegian crime drama Wisting.

Moss will play an FBI agent in the Scandinavian drama, which is commissioned by MTG for its Nordic streaming service Viaplay and flagship entertainment channel TV3, as well as German broadcaster ARD. Banijay Rights has the international rights for the 10×45-minute series.

Richie Campbell (Anuvahood, The Frankenstein Chronicles) also joins the cast in the role of an FBI agent. Moss and Campbell will co-star alongside Sven Nordin (Lilyhammer). Filming for the series has already begun in southern Norway.

The first season of Wisting is based on two of the books in the literary series by Jørn Lier Horst, The Hunting Dogs and The Caveman.

Moss commented, “To be a part of something with this kind of caliber is exciting for me. Characters and stories created through the lens of Scandinavia’s expert perspective, alongside working with actors such as Sven Nordin, make this a thrilling project for me. Plus, it made watching the Winter Olympics even more fun—go team Norway!!!”

Chris Stewart, VP of sales and acquisitions at Banijay Rights, said, “We’re delighted that Carrie-Anne Moss and Richie Campbell have added their names to the amazing creative talent pool attached to Wisting; further evidence of the truly international credentials of this fantastic series.”

Wisting directors Trygve Allister Diesen and Katarina Launing, added, “We are delighted that Moss has joined the cast of Wisting. She captivated us with her superb and iconic portrayal of Trinity in The Matrix, and her stellar work on the small screen recently in Jessica Jones. We are convinced that she will bring the same fierceness, intensity and intelligence to the role of FBI agent Maggie Griffin. We look forward to working with her.”
