TORONTO: Tricon Films & Television has inked a deal to serve as the first company to handle international TV, home entertainment and digital distribution for Factory Film Studio’s slate of ten new feature films.

The agreement marks Tricon’s first foray into film distribution. Tricon will launch the ten films—the comedies Canadian Muscle, Club Utopia, Mike Marino Live at The Borgata, Miss in Her Teens; dramas The Desert Fish and Trooper; thrillers Risk Factor, September Runs Red and Story of Eva; and the action/sci-fi animated film Origin: A Call To Minds—at MIPCOM next month.

“We are delighted to be working with Film Factory Studio,” said Karthiga Ratnasabapathy, the VP of worldwide sales and acquisitions at Tricon Films & Television. “Their exceptional film slate marks the beginning of Tricon’s strategic expansion into international film distribution.”

Michael Patrick Lilly, the chief creative officer at Factory Film Studio, remarked, “We have been searching for a partner to represent our titles on the world stage. We are thrilled to be working with the consummate professionals at Tricon! This alliance allows our clients (filmmakers) access to worldwide markets while we concentrate our efforts on packaging and marketing within North America.”
