Tricon Sells 100-Plus Hours Worldwide

TORONTO: Tricon Films & Television has inked international sales for more than 100 hours of scripted, lifestyle and documentary programming, including the drama series Hard Rock Medical.

National Indigenous Television (NITV) in Australia picked up the 21×30-minute series Hard Rock Medical, which follows a ragtag group of medical hopefuls as they care for patients. The channel also went for the hour-long comedy show We Ain’t Terrorists. Also in Oz, Foxtel scooped up 17 hours of factual programming, including the documentary series Reelside, the coming-of-age doc Inocente, The Restorers, Independence USA and Muscle Car.

Hard Rock Medical and the comedy series InSecurity went to ZNS for Latin America and the Bahamas. Bell Media in Canada, meanwhile, acquired the 6×30-minute drama Submission, as well as new seasons of Comedy Bang! Bang! and Maron.

Thaole in Vietnam also signed on for Hard Rock Medical and the comedy series Farmed & Dangerous. Additionally, Thaole went for the sci-fi feature Origin: A Call to Minds, as well as several other films, including Mischief on Wheels, September Runs Red, Story of Eva, Miss in Her Teens, Club Utopia, Risk Factor and Trooper.

Tricon also secured several inflight-entertainment deals. Spafax picked up On the Record with Mick Rock for Cathay Pacific Inflight Hong Kong, while GEE Media acquired the lifestyle series Breakneck Builds and Sugar Showdown for Westjet Inflight Canada, as well as Born to Run for Ciba Inflight Africa.
